Not Pushing It

Despite a reasonable run at Cheltenham on Saturday 12th November 2011, he was sixth to Dorset Square as he returned to racing in a handicap hurdle over three miles, one and a half furlongs, Connections of last year’s John Smith’s Grand National winner Don’t Push It will be taking their time before deciding on his next appearance.

Trained by Jonjo O’Neill, Dont Push It is being aimed at another Aintree run in 2012 after coming home third in his defense of the title this year. He will probably have another run over hurdles, following that seasonal reappearance.

JP McManus’ racing manager Frank Berry was quoted by the Press Association as saying: “He ran nicely. There are no plans for him at the minute. We’ll see how he is in a week or two and see how he comes out of it.

“I’m sure there will be another hurdle race for him. The National is obviously the long-term target again.”
