Oscar Time Back In Action
With the new hunt season well and truly under way, 2011 Grand National runner up Oscar Time is back in action and lining up for his seasonal debut over hurdles at Thurles on Thursday November 24th.
Navigated by Sam Waley-Cohen, the Martin Lynch-trained ten year old was beaten two and a quarter lengths by Ballabriggs at Aintree in 2011 and will face four rivals, including Grade 1 winner Zaidpour, in the Rock Of Cashel Hurdle over 2m 6f 110yds at Thurles.
The 10 year old will once again be partnered with Waley-Cohen when he faces Bacher Boy, Leave Him Alone, Bolands Corner and Zaidpour. Of the fives entries, he’s the oldest horse with the others being either 6 or 7 years old so maybe connections are hoping that experience makes up for youth!
The ground at Thurles was described as heavy on Wednesday morning. The forecast is for mainly dry weather with the possibility of some showers overnight.
