Johnny Farrelly Takes A Tumble

Grand National veteran jockey, Johnny Farrelly, has taken a knock and broken his collarbone, following a fall at Fontwell on Tuesday 6th December 2011.

He was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester after coming down on 8/1 Reymysterio in the Moneyback On Short Head Losers @Choicebet Handicap Chase which was run over 18 fences and 3m2½f.

Farrelly took to Twitter later on Tuesday night to say: “I’m not feeling too bad looking forward to getting home.” He also, very sweetly, added “Thank u to @fontwell racecourse for ringing my mam to let her no how I was much appreciated x”.

Farrelly has run in the last four Grand Nationals: Piraya 19th in 2011, Piraya 13th in 2010, Arteea 10th in 2009 and in 2008 he rode Joaaci but fell at the 20th.
