For the first time in history, the BBC will not be covering the biggest race in the world – the Grand National. Instead, the honour now falls to Channel 4 Racing who have been working tirelessly to ensure that the standard of coverage, not just meets, but exceeds that of the Beeb in recent years.
And to ensure that the build up is as exciting as ever, they've created a spectacular new advert to promote the 2013 Grand National which takes place at Aintree on April 6th.
The stars they enlisted are of the equine variety and are stunt horses from some of the biggest blockbuster films and ran them through the streets of Liverpool as tover two days of filming in the city.
Stabled at Aintree while filming was taking place, the horses used included Sultan, an eight-year-old bay who starred as Joey in Steven Spielberg’s War Horse and horse masters from The Devils Horsemen brought in 10 stunt horses including Irish hunters for the promo.
Other movie and TV credits for the fab horses include Les Miserables and TV drama Game of Thrones and the advert which is now in post-production is due to be aired on Channel 4 on March 19th just before 9pm!!
