Once again The 2015 Coral Scottish Grand National is throwing up some tantalising odds for the punters. The usual mix of second season chasers and those who missed the Aintree cut will tackle the Ayr fences on Saturday.

The going will always play a massive part in a race run over four miles, recently the course going has changed from good to firm to the soft side of good. More showers are expected so the going could change before the race.

The 2012 Scottish Grand National winner was the Andrew Parker trained Merigo and ridden by Timmy Murphy, he fought a tough battle with Auroras Encore, but eventually won by a head. Merigo finished 2nd in 2011 and was heavily backed by punters in the run up to the race and went off as the 15-2 favourite. The 40/1 shot King Fontaine was placed third and Ballyfitz came fourth.
